  • After your initial consultation, we will provide you with an estimate of the number of trays needed to complete your treatment, which will determine the duration. On average, our patients require 4-6 trays per arch, with each tray worn for approximately 3 weeks. This translates to an average treatment duration of 12-18 weeks.

  • You'll initially visit White Align for impressions and possibly a study model. Return after one week to collect and fit your new tray. Follow-up appointments are typically scheduled every two weeks for new impressions and tray fittings. For remote patients, trays can be posted at no extra cost after the initial fitting, but all impression sessions must be done in person.

  • Payment is due at each impression appointment. The cost per tray for one arch (upper or lower) is £185.00.

If treating both upper and lower arches, the price is £350.00 for each set of trays. Patients may require a study model during the first impression appointment, which incurs an additional £50.00 fee.

  • Retainers are essential to maintaining the final position of your teeth post-straightening.

    We offer two options:

Fixed Retainer - A thin, discreet wire fixture attached to the back of the teeth.

Removable Retainer - A clear retainer worn during sleep. Both options cost £135.00 per arch.

  • In case of a lost or broken tray, promptly book an appointment with us for a new impression to avoid treatment delays. Even minor cracks can impact treatment effectiveness.

If unable to secure an appointment immediately, continue wearing your previous tray to minimize delays.

Broken/Cracked Tray (from general use): No charge if the broken retainer is brought to the replacement appointment.

Lost Tray: Replacement cost is £185.00.

  • We provide a carry case for your tray to ensure safekeeping when not in use. It's important to store them properly rather than using makeshift options like wrapping them in a napkin.

Additionally, we offer a foldaway travel toothbrush for your convenience when dining out.

  • It's common to experience some discomfort or pressure when wearing aligners, especially in the first few days of each tray. However, this discomfort is usually mild and temporary as your teeth adjust to the aligners.

If you experience significant pain, please contact us immediately.

  • It's best to remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent staining and damage to the aligners. Remember to brush your teeth before reinserting the aligners to maintain good oral hygiene.

  • You can smoke with the trays in, but it is not recommended.

Removing the trays when smoking will help prevent slight discolouration of the tray.

  • If you encounter any problems with your aligners, such as discomfort, sharp edges, or difficulty inserting or removing them, please contact us for assistance.

We can provide guidance or schedule an appointment to address any issues promptly.

  • It's essential to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment by cleaning your aligners regularly. Rinse them with lukewarm water before and after wearing them, and brush them gently with a soft toothbrush or aligner brush. Avoid using hot water or abrasive toothpaste, as these can damage the aligners.

  • If you lose or damage your aligners while travelling, please contact us as soon as possible for assistance. We may be able to provide temporary solutions or guidance to help you continue your treatment until you can obtain replacements.

  • Similar to fixed wire braces, speech may be slightly affected temporarily for some people as your tongue gets used to changes in your mouth. This should only last a few days.
